A favorite among darker blondes and lighter brunettes. Pure henna establishes the warm auburn base. Then we taper it back to a soft brown with some natural cool-hued indigo. Neem oil and additional herbs blend into the mix enough to hold back the darkest color expression, allowing a light, balanced color that’s equal parts gentle and rich. The perfect transition for a blonde looking to try a new look.
Our Henna-Based Hair Dyes Are Your Best Choice:
• Organically grown & seasonally hand-harvested in indigenous hearty soils.
• Milled to a fine powder to allow maximum, predictable pigment release.
• Hand-sifted three times to a uniform texture for best application.
• Vacuum-sealed & light-sealed to preserve potency, purity, and freshness.
Always Cruelty-Free. Never Tested on Animals.
NO added chemicals, preservatives or perfumes—just pure natural goodness!

I was very skeptical. But I will be using Henn products from now on!

I’ve been using henna color lab for 6 years. My first time was just the light brown. It was lovely but a little too red for me. So next I ordered Alma, and cassia. I mix 1/3 of each with 1/3 of light brown (maybe a little more of the light brown) and have had the perfect color, not too red. I’ve been using this mix for 5 years now and am never disappointed. Love the results everytime!!

I have light to medium brown hair. After applying this, I left it for 2 hours and then rinsed, conditioned, and styled as usual. I could barely tell a difference. Over the next 2 days the color darkened a little and became a beautiful, rich brown with just a hint of red. It is such a beautiful color.
I highly recommend to practice the process once using the cassia obovata, unless you’ve dyed your hair before.
I mixed mine to a slightly runny pancake batter consistency and then applied it using a squirt bottle.

Well
I was hoping for more light brown and less orange/red
Hoping it will fade in the next few weeks
But overall my hair looks and feels really healthy and the color isn’t awful, it’s just not what I was expecting.

I have colored my hair in a salon for 30 years. Since the pandemic I stopped and realized my natural color was not so bad just wanted a little something. I have light brown hair a little grey here and there with bleached roots left over from highlights and lowlights. My hair length is about 3″ below my shoulders. I had quite a bit left over and probably should have mixed it all and kept some for touchups. I picked the light brown thinking it would just give me a little all over color with possibly some red highlights that you would see in the sun. It came out way darker more like a mixture of medium brown and auburn. I still like it just thinking I will mix light brown next time with a little of the ginger blonde. Wish they had something a little lighter in color.

4 stars because this is a great quality product. Unfortunately, my light brown virgin hair was dyed a copper color from the ‘light brown’ bag. I’m actually pretty disappointed that it is SO red but I’m trying to just enjoy the healthy shine that I have now. In the future, I won’t be able to use this again. I think it would be great if your site allowed us to upload some photos of real results under each color so that people could get a better idea of the expected result. I was too impatient to do a strand test, so I highly recommend one before you commit to doing your whole head! Don’t make my mistake! Hope it fades soon!

Absolutely loved it! Can’t not say how happy I am… First time using Henna and was very aware that it may not work at first and may need it to repeat application to cover my gray hair but this product worked wonders!!! Will definitely continue to use ☺️

No more scalp burn! I, like some other reviewers, get a bad reaction to chemical dyes and I have tried them all through the years (Redken, Matrix, Paul Mitchel, Madison Reed, and all the box brands too). I am also a cancer survivor for 9 years now. After I the cancer, I had tried Lush Henna and liked it at first, but I soon had too much build up on my hair, and it was also much messier to apply than Henna Color Lab’s henna. I stopped using Henna altogether but my scalp reaction got worse no matter what I tried (see my list above). Back to Henna after about 7 years. So far, I have done 2 applications of the light brown and love it! I have hair about 5 inches past my shoulders, and though it is fine, I have a lot of it. One pack was more than enough for two applications. My one mistake for this last time was that I mixed the whole half bag at the same time and realized I should have only mixed part of it. The henna needs to be used within 10 mins after it is mixed (I only read this after I had mixed all of it), This is because I only needed the roots to be processed for the full two hours. Because I used it on all of my hair for that amount of time, the part that already had henna on it became too red (it had been a nice light brown, with very minimal red undertones). This was entirely my fault and I’m writing this so others don’t make this same mistake for subsequent applications! All in all, this is the best Henna I’ve tried and I have now just started using their shampoos and conditioner.

This is the best hair color I’ve ever had!
I have back-length natural dirty blonde hair with bleached ends. I’ve always loved red hair, but I wasn’t sure if I was ready for completely red hair. Instead, I used a mixture of 1 pack of this light brown, 1/2 pack of auburn, and 1/2 pack of natural red henna. What I got when the dye set in was a beautiful soft auburn that looks completely natural. I first dyed it four months ago, and it has since faded into a strawberry blonde.
Honestly, I plan to keep dying my hair with henna for a long time. I ordered in bulk during a Christmas deal, and I’m waiting for the next deal to get restocked 🙂

Just LOVE it! I am a breast cancer survivor and I am trying to decrease my exposure to harmful chemicals. I also won’t use any products from companies that do animal testing. This is my first time using henna.
After a few days the color deepened as promised. The color is rich and beautiful. Washing it out was a bit gross, but repeatedly using conditioner as recommended, really worked. Despite the messy cleanup, I will definitely use this henna again. It was worth it and I really like the philosophy of this company!

My hair is a medium brown, almost light brown under the sun and it is my first time using this wonderful henna. The description is very accurate, and it all depends on your natural hues. It is a beautiful chestnut coffee-like color, yet honeyed auburn when lights hit. I’ve also covered my mom’s grey roots and it turned like a golden caramel, but she still loved it. The smell is also a very mild earthly smell and it was an easy process. If you have brown or dark blonde hair, this is perfect. I just wish the shipping costs were more reasonable but nonetheless, I am very happy. My hair feels thicker and healthier. Thank you Henna Color Lab. First time user and always!

I have wanted to switch to henna for years because my hair was getting damaged by box dyes and looking bad. This brand and this color was my first experience, and I’m so glad I did my research. I also have made the switch to going cruelty-free, including a vegan lifestyle. I had to change hair color for my conscience, but I was nervous.
I am mid-forties, about 10-15% grey with resistant greys. My natural color is medium brown with red hues. I have been using Clairol’s Age Defy in the medium and golden brown shades because the red just didn’t last as long covering my resistant strands. I did root-touchups about three times a year.
From Henna Color Lab, I bought Light Brown and was skeptical. I only did the new growth/roots out of concern that henna wasn’t going to work for me. WELL IT DID WORK! I love it! After two weeks of washing every 2-3 days, it still looks great. Roots-only application blended perfectly with my existing color in about 1 1/2 hours, one application for me. I cannot see the difference between the henna and the old color. I am elated. I have more of my natural red hues back AND get grey coverage. This natural way is the best way. I can’t go back to the stress of using chemicals.
Tips: Follow the instructions. Read them several times. They are helpful, and you can trust them. I did get more orange than I expected, especially on baby hairs, greys, and highlights, but they look natural. I was surprised by the way the mixture wouldn’t spread. You just kind of spackle it on. It’s not slippery at all, though you can sort of smear it around. Three tablespoons did about 1 1/2 inches of roots around my whole head. My hair smells like cut grass when I wash it, but when it’s dry, nothing. I do not find this offensive at all.
Good luck! This is a good choice!
Thank you, Henna Color Lab!

I’ve used chemical hair dyes many times in the past and have never gotten a color that even comes close to the result I got from this henna. My hair also instantly felt softer and healthier after coloring, which is also something you’d never get from a box dye. The henna bled out a tiny bit during the first two washes, but I don’t think the color has faded as a result overall. I mixed about 3/4 of a packet of light brown with 1/4 of a packet of pure henna because I wanted to ensure a bit more red. I have thick, shoulder length hair and think I could have gotten away with using half a packet rather than a full one because I had quite a bit of mix left over. On my hair color (naturally copper/light brownish) I got a super rich reddish auburn color that I absolutely love. The coverage is very even, has no brassiness at all and honestly looks like it could be my natural color. I’ll never use chemical dyes again!

Absolutely love this!! I have naturally curly hair and used to color it every 6 weeks. The damage left on my head is lots of breakage, frizz, and very dry hair. I decided to try not to color my hair and use only natural products. However, I could not stand to see the gray hair growing from my scalp. I almost made an appointment to get my hair colored again, or worse yet found my self looking at box dyes. Someone told me about henna and I remember my sister used to dye her hair red with it years ago. I did some research and took the plunge and purchased this henna. I m extremely pleased. I absolutely love the color and how soft my hair is. I will only use henna from now on. It was very easy to mix up and apply. I left it in for about two hours and it is beautiful. Thank you so much.

I have short dark brown/black hair that’s 20-30% gray. I didn’t want a color change, just to blend the gray in by turning it into honey brown highlights, and this did the job brilliantly! I used half the package (my hair is short but thick) and left it on for an hour and a half or so, and I couldn’t have asked for a better results. I’ve used natural henna before so had no trouble using this — in fact it was much easier. I love that it’s pre-mixed to achieve the desired color and only needs warm water to activate, not apple cider vinegar. Very happy to have found HennaColorLab, I’ll definitely be a repeat customer.

I am so close to giving a 5* review. I love the low prep time, no preparing my mud 6 hours in advance with coffee (that I do not drink). I love the processing time, 2 hours vs sleeping it in. The white coverage is really good (better than the Dark Brown and Black), all of my whites get tinted as long as I thoroughly coat and slather each strand. I get 3 uses from each bag when doing my roots only. The one thing keeping me from the extra * is that the color pulls very red on me. Rather than “coffee and chestnut”, it is pretty much straight auburn. There is absolutely no green tint to begin with. I tend to get highlights put in once or twice a year and they are a little cooler than my white roots, but it blends okay. I have naturally black-dark brown coarse Asian hair, so maybe it has something to do with the red in my hair, but my whites are pretty silvery white, so maybe-maybe not. Nonetheless, this is still my favorite henna brand and color. I will continue to buy!
chiffgirl –
My hair is naturally a dark blonde/light brown. As with others who reviewed the light brown henna, my results are redder than what you see on the model, but it’s an extremely natural-looking, lustrous red-brown (auburn?) and exactly what I was going for. Application was also less fussy than the previous brand I used, which required letting the mixed henna sit for several hours and leaving the mixture on for 2-4 hours. Here, you mix it right up, plop it on (really not that bad, guys. If you can finger paint and make mud pies, you can do this!) and wait 1-2 hours for results (I did almost the full two hours). If you’re looking for a natural-looking auburn, this is it. Easy, fun, inexpensive, and infinitely repeatable without jacking up your hair. Great stuff!

My review is probably like everyone elses! First time henna user but been coloring my hair for 30+ years. Just turned 50 and have been battling grays plus brassy color once the dye fades. After A LOT of research, decided to give this a try and I’m thrilled. Did the double process due to all my gray. My hair is gorgeous – much redder than I expected (my hair always pulls red anyway) but the color a perfect coppery brown. The only change I made the second go-round is I added some Medium Brown to the roots only (3:1 ratio Light Brown to Medium Brown) because they were slightly orangey (probably because the roots were so light to start with). I did the rest of my hair just with Light Brown and it’s perfect – even coverage, soft, shiny!! I keep staring in the mirror because I’m thrilled. I’m a henna convert!!

The color is great! As close as the one on the picture, I have a light brown color (slightly grayish shade with a few gray hair), I’ve colored it today and it is beautiful brown color with a bit of auburn, not too dark or red. I will definitely continue to use it.

Tried product. Loved it. Took care of my grays hair. Did the job. Will recommend. I chose lite brown.

Exceeded my expectations! I had used pure henna for about a year before I realized it was getting too dark. After many failed bleach attempts, 8 months later I now still have red, gold, and blonde hair with brown roots. Long story short, all of the pure henna that was left is almost grown out, but not completely. I used the Light Brown Henna just on about 4 inches of my roots, because I thought the pure henna in the light brown would be warm, but not too reddish. My hair blends perfectly now!! I left it off of the bottom ends for an ombre effect and it is BEAUTIFUL!! It isn’t as red of a brown as some reviewers say it is, but it’s great! I had used the Hair Treatment Henna about a month before, left it in overnight instead of just 2 hours so the gold-yellow tint was still intense and the light brown covered it, but I can still kinda see it. I like how henna dyes are translucent. I also only left in the light brown dye shortly less than an hour because I was scared of it coming out dark. It definitely had some green tints from the indigo, and they washed out completely after my second hair wash. My hair is now a gorgeous, warm, light brown. I had no idea how henna could be light, but it is! I probably won’t use this that much since I just needed to blend my hair together, and if i do more full applications I think it will get too dark. (henna builds on previous layers) – but I might just reapply on the top part to enhance the ombre effect 🙂 I love henna color lab and would recommend them to anyone!

I’ve been using pure henna for many years. I decided to switch it up by trying the light brown. I didn’t care for it. My hair seemed dry and the color was definitely darker. This is probably best for a person with natural light brown hair. I will go back to my favorite pure henna

I’ve been considering dying my hair with henna for a year now, and I’m very glad I chose this brand. It’s been two days since I used the light brown color. I wanted to choose a color that was similar to my natural hair color (dirty blond with light blond highlights) because this was my first time dying my hair BUT the color turned out to be a reddish-auburn color, which is very nice but not what I was expecting. I have short hair a few inches above my shoulders, and it is VERY thick hair for being a natural blonde, anyways two packets was barely enough to cover my whole head (I noticed I didn’t cover all of my roots so I can still see a little of my natural color there too). The smell was there but I didn’t think it was very bad when I applied it, I left it in for 4 hours, (which is probably why my hair turned out so red)..and washing it out wasn’t as bad as I expected too. Overall, I am very happy with how my hair turned out. Thank you!!!

This henna is amazing! I previously hennaed my hair once with pure red henna, which turned my dark blonde/light brown hair a nice neon orange. After reading reviews on this site, I decided to purchase the light brown formulation. This henna makes my hair an absolutely gorgeous shade of light auburn. It definitely made my hair more red than in the display picture, which is what I was going for. It’s also so soft and shiny. It does fade out over time, so I find myself re-hennaing about every 3-4 weeks to get root coverage deepen the color. I’ll never color my hair with anything else! Side note: (The review section would be even more helpful for potential buyers if it had an option to upload before/after pictures)
Sonny –
I have black hair with hilites and lately noticed a lot of white hair. I used this for the 1st time and it made my hair a subtle tint of red and my whites turned golden. Overall i am satisfied with the color. I dont mind the smell and prefer it over ammonia smell in all other hair dyes. Luv it’s natural and will continue and try mohogany next time.
Maria Donati –
Finally a henna that is not too red! Just as described, coffee and warm chestnut light brown, minimal red.
Carmen Valdivieso –
I was impressed of how well henna covers my gray hair. I tried light brown but it was a darker color than I was expected. I combined it with ginger color 50/50 ratio and came out an red brown color. My original color is a medium brown. I found that the package is easy to mix it with water. It takes 2 hours and the first day it looks darker. In about 3 days the color lights up. I use the treatment first for 2 hours and the henna color after. My hair started to grow and doesn’t fall. This is the main reason I turned to henna. Red color never looked good on me but I am doing to protect my hair from harsh chemicals. I wish that I will find henna that will not have red in it like in the picture. I wanted a lighter color than my medium brown without red. I will still buy these products while my hair is doing very well and I definitely recommended it to everyone who wants to have a healthy and good looking hair.

I have been thinking about coloring my hair with henna for 2 years now, but did not take the plunge until I came across Henna Color Lab. I fell in love with their color selection, and was thrilled that most of the reviews stated this henna is true to color. Henna Color Lab’s “light brown” was exactly the shade I was looking for. Last night was my first time using any sort of henna, and let me tell you, I am never going back to conventional dyes. I was so nervous to see how this would react to my hair, because I previously had a badly grown out bleached ombré. I thought it would be impossible to get an even color on my hair. Man, did this product deliver! The light brown henna covered all my hair evenly. No spots, no line of demarcation, no green tint. The tone is amazing and the shade is perfect. New customer for life. Thank you Hennna Color Lab for providing an amazing product!

I have been using henna for several years now and have tried many good brands but I like this henna the best. With other henna’s, I had more trouble washing it out and my hair always felt dry afterward. After using Henna Color Lab, my hair was soft and I had no trouble getting the henna out. I will note that my natural hair color is light to medium brown with a few grays. I left this henna in a couple hours and my hair did turn out with a little more red than I was hoping. I am still fine with it because I know what to expect with using henna. I had just never used indigo. Finally, as far a gray coverage, I only used one round of this I cannot differentiate my gray hair from the rest of my Henna Color Lab dyed hair.

Finally! My faded red/brown hair with ultra light blonde (meaning white) highlights is back to the color of my youth. A beautiful reddish light brown/auburn. I have been getting lots of complements on how natural it looks.
Virginia –
This was my first time using henna. I always used over the counter hair color to cover my stubborn grays. I had to stop using it because it would make my scalp burn and itch. A co-worker told me about henna for my hair. I took the plunge and ordered the light brown henna hair dye and I can’t be more happier. No more burning, itching scalp. My hair color is a beautiful warn auburn coppery color, yes it is a little darker than what the picture shows, actually it looks a lot nicer than the picture. The area where my gray was is a lighter brown color. It’s great when you get a lot of compliments from co-workers on your hair color. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to try henna instead of over the counter hair dyes. A henna user for life. Plus the shipping was super fast. I ordered on a Friday and received it on a Tuesday.

I like this light brown henna. I naturally have light brown/dark blonde hair with some scattered grays that I was looking for something to blend them in. I didn’t want to go too red with the henna or too dark.( I have experience with henna and indigo before.)So I left the henna mix on for only 30 minutes. My grays turned a golden color, perfectly blended in. The rest of the hair was a little redder and a little darker. But over the past week has lightened up to a beautiful light brown color with little to no red. Keep in mind I only left it on for 30 minutes. My hair was still soft, shiny and super conditioned with only this length of time. I feel so much better not putting chemicals on my hair…that sometimes left my hair brassy…even using an ash color. Chemical dyes cannot beat the strength, softness, and beautiful shine that henna brings to the hair! Awesome stuff!

I’ve been using various hair color blends from Henna Color Lab for the last couple of years. Light Brown is the first color I ever tried, and is actually my favorite. I keep coming back to it. It’s subtle; not too light, not too dark. It covers the couple of grays that I am starting to get (!!), and there is a richness to the color that could never be accomplished with chemical dyes. Be sure to read the instructions; color can come out dark at first but takes a couple of days to reveal the true color result. The application process can be messy. It has taken some practice to minimize the mess, but I’ve found that using a tint brush helps a lot. Afterwards, my hair is left soft and healthy. Amazing!
Diane –
First time using henna. I had bleach blonde hair and was getting tired of using chemicals that stung my scalp. I emailed the Henna Color Lab about what color I should use to get a light brown with a hint of red. They responded the same day and told me I should go with 25 percent medium brown and 75 percent light brown. So I did. It came out darker than desired but with a few shampoos it became a wonderful shade of medium brown with just a tad of red highlights. This color is so close to my natural hair color and made my hair incredibly smooth. Im thinking about adding a little pure henna to my mix next time for just a bit more red. I highly recommend this product and will continue to use it! Thanks to Color Lab for answering all my questions!!!

Finally!!!
I am highly allergic to PPD so much so that I was hospitalized for my reaction! My journey to find a product to color my hair has not been an easy one. I have been to many hair salons to find a product that is PPD free. I was shocked that about 90% of the salons I visited had no idea about PPD and the dangers it can cause! I was even more shocked that most of the products on the market do contain PPD but in lower levels and are advertised as being PPD free!!! This blew my mind that products are labeled and advertised as being PPD free when in fact they were not! This is when I began my quest to try henna and I decided to go with Henna Color Lab products and it was by far the best decision I have ever made! I chose the light brown color and I followed the directions to a T and my hair came out AMAZING!!!!! From the bottom of my heart I thank Henna Color Lab for creating this product !!!!
Debra –
The package SAYS light brown. My hair is a dark blonde/ light brown colour naturally with some grey.
I followed the instructions and the good thing is that this covered all my greys.
However my hair does not look anything like this photo.
My hair is orange.
This photo is brown and golden highlights. This is not what I got.
I am glad it will wash out.
Disappointed. I really wanted the colour in this photo.
Lesa –
This was my first time using Henna on my hair. It was awesome! The “light brown” color is great. It covered my gray very well. The color had a little more red than I’m used to, but only barely so. My hair is normally “light ash brown” and it was a “light warm brown” after using Henna. My hair didn’t feel fried afterwards like it did with commercial hair dyes. It took a few days for the odd smell to go away but it was totally worth it. It was very easy to apply: just add water and smear it on! It washes out easily. I intend to buy this again and stick with this product indefinitely. I highly recommend it!
Tatsiana –
I love it. Perfect color!!!!! Don’t be afraid to try it. I will use it for good.
Diane –
This was my first Henna experience and chose Henna Color Labs after some research. I was pretty nervous that I would come out red or orange color cause my roots were gray. The rest of my hair had a Loreal Dark Blonde. My hair without color would be 80% gray. Finally today I did it and I am so glad i did! I bought the light brown and left it in for 2 hours. I did do the root touch up first as recommended in the directions. I used a carrot shaped bag to apply which made it much easier. I didn’t think it was all that hard to use at all nor did I hate the earthy smell. My hair came out a beautiful light brown with some reddish highlights, much prettier then the hair colors I had been using. I am curious if it will change much over the next couple days since this is my first experience. I am already getting my next order together and taking advantage of the special so I can try the shampoo as well. Thanks so much for a awesome product !!!

I have medium brown hair, but the ends are much lighter. And some grays here and there. I was using another brand of light brown henna and liked it. It made my grays a dark golden blonde and gave the rest of my hair a golden glow. My previous brand was no longer available, so I had to look for an alternative and found Henna Color Lab. Did my hair today and left it in for about and hour and 45 mins not including the amount of time it took to apply it. WOW WOW WOW! Right away I could tell the overall color was absolutely gorgeous. It made my ends a little darker and blended all of the uneven color together. It is still continuing to develop and I can’t wait to see what it looks like in a day. I am a customer for life!

I researched a lot of different companies before deciding to order from here and I am so glad I did. Typical story, damaged hair from years of chemical lightening, and I wanted to be able to color my hair but not damage it with chemicals. I started with past shoulder length chemically treated level 9 blond hair with about 2.5 inches of dark dishwater blonde roots. First, I was nervous that I would end up with colored hair which still showed my roots but that did not happen, the color applied completely evenly on roots and colored hair and looked so natural, I love it! I left mine on for over 4 hours because I really wanted to get a good color saturation. On me, it was a dark auburn for the first week, and with time has gradually came out to be a very warm reddish brown. Much more red tones than shows in the picture just as an FYI to anyone considering it. Personally I love the red tones, and I think next time I will mix half a bag of this light brown shade with half a bag of pure henna to bring out even more red but still temper it with the light brown tones. The color is rich and natural looking, and my hair felt stronger, its been a couple weeks now and my hair still feels strong. I’m very happy with it, and I will never go back to chemical dyes.
Tamara –
I am so happy I tried this product! I have been coloring my hair for years and as a result have damaged my hair pretty badly. Recently my hair had been falling out and breaking off so I had decided to stop using chemicals of any kind on it which meant no more coloring. Unfortunately, my haircolor began to get very dull and had some really bad roots showing. I thought I was just going to have to live with at least a years worth of bad hair until it all grew out. Then I found this product…now my hair looks healthy and shiny! The color is amazing, a little darker than the picture but still absolutely beautiful! I can not believe that I have been using chemicals to color my hair all this time! The funny thing is, I was never really able to achieve a color that I was happy with until now. If anyone is on the fence about trying this product, let this review be the one that makes up your mind. Try this product, you won’t be disappointed and will truly love the results!!!

Oh my goodness.
I waited a few weeks to write my review because I wanted to see how the color developed, and I couldn’t be happier.
I had been rockin’ some very light highlights in order to blend my brown hair with my abundance of grey, but I was noticing that my hair texture was changing from all the damage; when I put this all over my hair (I mixed with a can of warmed coconut milk) I immediately noticed a difference in how my scalp felt.
After washing out and blow drying my hair, there was a lot of bright red (I didn’t notice any green as some people mentioned, but I have a great deal of red in my hair naturally and I was coloring over bleach so maybe that explains my color).
Within a week, however, my hair was a gorgeous light brown that looked perfectly natural with minimal red.
My hairstylist even asked me to write down the site so she could refer people who want a more natural color option because she thought the color was wonderful; the best part for me was when I only had to trim off a few inches of my hard earned growth (I’ve been growing out a pixie cut for what feels like a million years).
I’m a believer and a devotee; and because of my own gushy feelings, I now get why so many people on here feel the need to qualify that nobody paid them for their review.
Nobody paid me either.
😉
Thanks Henna Color Lab!
I love you twice!

I thought it was a little odd that there were no negative or mediocre reviews on the site, but then I tried the product. It really is fabulous. I chose the light brown because I was concerned the true henna would come out too bright on my gray/white roots and previously colored light brown hair. This came out a rich warm brown and while my roots are a lighter red, they are not too bright. I used one of the hair treatments as a test run to see how best to get the “mud” on my hair without having to worry about color. I recommend doing that your first time since it made applying the actual color easier since I had practice. These are the only products I plan to use for the rest of my hair coloring days.

Hello and greetings. I am all about products that are cruelty free, animal friendly, save the earth- products, and love. This is the first time purchasing and using the henna light brown color dye on my hair. I had a bad hair cut this past year, so my hair is in its ‘growing out’ phase, and probably will be for at least a few more months. In the mean time, I was looking to even out the color and even color a few greys. After the application and wash out last night, I really think I will never use another brand on this hair. It was a process which was relaxing and the end result is nice. My hair was not damaged at all. It actually feels better since using this product. Thank you. I will probably re order at a later date.

I ordinarily have medium ash brown hair. This turned it very dark and very red, but it faded out to a pretty flattering auburn. This is much smoother and easier to use than the Lush henna. I’m going to keep using this, but will probably only keep it on for a fraction of the time.

I started out with a dark strawberry blonde with a few highlights in the front and I came out with a brown color with red undertones. It’s a gorgeous shade. The smell is kind of hard to get out of your hair and I didn’t have any blue or green undertones at all. I love it.

Super easy to use (more so than the Lush blocks I’d previously tried), mess notwithstanding! Nice earthy smell, makes me feel like a greenwitch as I’m slopping the paste all over my head. This conditioned my hair (somewhat damaged from years of dyeing) beautifully — feels shiny and strong! I was surprised that this color went QUITE red on my ash-blonde hair, however — I’d hoped for something a little more chocolate or caramel brown. Instead, has gradually faded to a flattering but unexpected auburn.

I am allergic to hair dye, which used to really make me mad until I started researching how bad commercial dye is for your hair & body. I had been trying to convince myself that I was OK with the grays and whites I was starting to see. But I really wasn’t. I decided to do some research on henna, and after a lot of homework, I went for the light brown color from Henna Color Lab. This is close to my natural color, which I still basically am other than the hairline grays starting to become numerous. I took the plunge and ordered. I thought it was easy to use, and took a Saturday afternoon to myself to apply the color. It mixed up easily and I thought it went on pretty easily, too, with not a lot of mess. I took my time and could keep the drips to a minimum. I left it on for two hours and then rinsed and conditioned as directed. My hair felt so soft and my scalp did not itch at all. I was SO pleased with the resulting color, which basically matched- and only slightly darkened-my natural color. Exactly what I was looking to do. I did find that I only needed about half the bag for my shoulder length hair and did have a lot left over, so next time I will only mix half. I love, love that I can make my hair look better and feel better about how I look in a healthier way. Thank you!!

I have blond hair and it came out very red…which I don’t mind, just not what I was expecting! It’s a very pretty color though and left my hair softer than ever. If you want a true chocolate brown color I’d try something a little darker (especially if you have light hair), but overall this is beautiful!

This is an excellent henna dye! I used it on my mom whose hair was grey with some white strands. She did not want red hair (pure henna turns hair red). We were both thrilled with the results. Her hair is a warm, light brown, and her white hairs are a golden color. It is a very flattering shade and is exactly what we were looking for. I did notice the slight green tint initially due to the indigo, but it was gone within 24 hours. The quality of this henna is the best I have ever used and we will be buying this shade again.

OBSESSED! I recently stopped putting chemicals of any kind in my hair and wanted to try henna hair dye. It smells bad (reminded me of a horse stable) and took me about an hour and a half to cover my whole head (my hair is about 4 inches past my shoulders and one package was plenty) but I LOVED the results. My starting color was a dark strawberry blonde with 2 inches of brown roots. After I finished application I waited 1 hour. It didn’t look green at all and you couldn’t tell I had roots afterwards. After 1 week my hair is a gorgeous light brown color and I just ordered 4 more packages of Light Brown! Highly recommended and very fast delivery.

The reason I didn’t like this henna was primarily my fault. I started off with bleached hair and about 4 1/2 inches of my natural medium brown root growth. I was trying to just let my brown hair grow out to at least my shoulders and then chop off the blonde, but I’m very impatient and my hair looked trashy so I bought this color thinking it would somewhat match my roots and then my hair wouldn’t look so bad. Wrong. When I washed it out it was a mix of orange and brown, but the orange/copper color showed more than the brown. I gave it 48 hours to ‘mature’ and it still looks the same! Now I look at the color chart and it does look more copper than the hair on the model, so therefore it was my fault. I’m now going to buy the dark brown and hope for he best.

Finally,
Since I was 16 years old I was using henna for my hair then I switched for regular coloring then henna then coloring, and now I’m 36, I realized that I need to stay on the healthy thing only, and after reading the wow reviews about this amazing henna I decided to try it ( its the second time I buy a prepared henna, I used to prepare my henna and doing the herbs i want, etc.) and Finally I got the color I want, my hair is shiny, I just add color last week so I was scared my hair will be like a piece of rock when I wash it from the henna ( it happened before when I add Lush henna and it was too hard to wash it) but thank God it didn’t happen this time, so I will keep using this henna for good.

Wooooooohooooo!!!!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
I started going gray very quickly about 2 years ago. I just turned 40 and suddenly realized I was about 30% gray. In my late teens and early 20’s I had colored my hair every color in the rainbow but I know how damaging that is––not to mention all of the chemicals. I had also tried different types of henna over the years but had never been fully satisfied with the color.
I ordered the light brown a few weeks ago and finally got around to making the “mud pie” last night. I could not be more delighted with the color and the coverage of my gray. The color had great depth and is very similar to my real color. I feel like a new person!! Not to mention, I live in Bend, OR and do my best to keep as local as possible. Being in Portland just makes you guys that much more awesome.
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!! Aimee’~

This was my first time using henna and I was a little hesitant to say the least. I opted for this light brown color since I wasn’t exactly ready to take the plunge. My intention was to improve his head of hair and go back to my natural color (or at least close as possible) which is a medium brown, but with a little kick qnd spice. I started off with dark blonde hair with very light highlights in the front. It took about 72 hours for my color to reveal itself and it’s fabulous!!! After application, my highlighted hair had a green tint (I believe his can be attributed to the indigo), the rest of my hair was a dark bark brown. As the hours and days passed, my hair transformed into this warm auburn coppery color. It is gorgeous. The green tint is gone and my hair is soft and shiny. I absolutely love it!! I cannot rave enough about it. I’m so upset that I didn’t turn to henna sooner. I love this color but now I only wonder if just go full force and let the red in:) I love your product and look forward to experimenting with a few colors. The great thing is that it’s good for your hair, so why not?! Thx for such a great product.
